Don Pettit And His Stunning Long Exposures

Astronaut and chemical engineer, Don Pettit, recently proved himself to also be an adept photographer, as he took a series of long exposure photographs of our Earth whilst aboard the ISS. These awe-inspiring photographs, taken at speeds of up to 28,000 km/h, are truly one-of-a-kind and give all of us the chance to have the kind of glimpse at our Universe that is normally beyond us. Pettit may have one of the most enviable jobs in the world, but by framing his shots like a professional, he is giving us all the opportunity to share his unique experience. Although a photograph can capture only a mere snapshot of reality, the snapshot here is truly an inspiring one which doesn’t tell a thousand words – it hints at a thousand mysteries.
