Maria Tiurina, an artist who has created an ink on paper advertisement , will be desperately hoping that the advert leads to sales. This is because her highly intricate, maze-like work – of which there are only three final pieces – took months to create, with the client requesting ‘millions of changes’. And yet, owing to the temporal nature of advertise, her efforts take just a second to glance at before we move on.
The ad’s, which are selling a drink that helps people fall asleep, will either catch peoples’ attention, or will quickly become a distant memory. It seems like such a strange, almost undignified fate for a piece of highly detailed artwork to suffer. But we’d have to give kudos to Saatchi & Saatchi for commissioning such an ambitious project in the first place.
