Rick Mosher’s anthropomorphic, mirrored wood images

I create anthropomorphic characters from mirrored wood images. I started making these out of figured wood while working at cabinet shops as a finisher. I would band saw the wood and book match the cut boards, gluing them back together to create faces I saw in the grain of the wood. I don’t like naming my Woodies as it is more fun to see what others see in the images. Pareidolia can cause people to interpret random images, or patterns of light and shadow, as faces. I decided to refine the faces I was seeing in the wood so others could see them as well. ~Rick Mosherwoody-170 woody-172 woody-173 woody-175 woody-180_web woody-200_web woody-203 woody-206
