Typographic paintings inspired by toxic, illogical modern world–Julia Remizova

I am a self-taught cross-disciplinary artist, born in Moscow in 1988 and now based in St. Petersburg, Russia. My main media are hand-cut stencils and spray paint on plywood. This brings my works closer to street art and graffiti. On the other hand typography brings them closer to posters and graphic design. Most of my works metaphorically and sometimes sarcastically cover the subject of the contemporary Western society lifestyle, anxious and unstable. The semantics of anxiety is not only represented by texts but by the word patterns, often repetitive, and chosen colours. The texts are highly inspired by toxic relationships, illogical way of thinking and double standards of the modern world.~Julia Remizova
