Watercolor landscapes inhabited by the self — Mauricio Paz Viola

My name is Mauricio Paz Viola and I am a US-based contemporary artist from Uruguay. My style is a distinct combination of surrealism and abstract art, and I have many series in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and I work with canvas, cardboard, and mixed media, among others to create an inner landscape. My works feature images of imaginary landscapes, empty or inhabited by unknown beings – landscapes that externalize to constant inner struggle of being human, that visualizes conflict between good and evil, between light and darkness.
